What's NEW at Capture!

As you have probably heard (or seen) by now, we have made some VERY big changes at Capture! We decided to stick with what we do best and streamline our company. We're now only selling our fabulous kits, both online and from our workspace in the Scrap 2 It store here in Ft. Collins! 

Miss seeing our smiling faces, or do you miss putting our kits together with your friends? Don't worry, you'll have an opportunity for just that every Thursday evening from 6-8pm at our Capture Kit Club located here in our workspace at Scrap 2 It! No registration necessary, just bring your basic scrapbook tools (adhesive, scissors, distress ink, journaling pens & foam squares) and a friend and you can choose from a wide variety of kits to assemble!

If you haven't stopped in to see us yet, this weekend would be the perfect opportunity! We're participating in the World Card Making Day Shop Hop with Scrap 2 It, Artsy and A Scrapin' Place! Visit each store to make one of these fun cards (and be eligible to win one of four clear card & envelope sets from Clear Scraps!):

Visit all 4 locations and you'll be entered in a drawing for $60 in gift cards!

As an added bonus, if you participate in the Shop Hop at Capture or Scrap 2 It, you'll get a 10% discount on this spook-tacular Halloween Card set!

The Shop Hop will be this Friday, Oct. 5th from 10-4 and Saturday, Oct. 6th from 10-4. Bring some adhesive and a friend!

If you like crafting with friends, (and really, who doesn't?) then be sure to come to the first ever Capture/Scrap 2 It Crop night Friday, Oct. 12th! We'll be co-hosting this fun filled night with Ranea from Scrap 2 It, and seats are limited so be sure to register!

CHA Summer 2012 Highlights!

Hello everyone!

We just got back from the CHA Summer 2012 show and boy was it a blast! We ordered from THIRTY TWO new lines to create many different kits for you going through the end of the year! We can't wait to get started creating and we know you're just going to LOVE what we make with it!

But until that time we wanted to share some of the highlights from the show and hopefully spread around the inspiration! Some of the trends (new and ongoing):

Will we still be able to do classes & crops?
Scrap 2 It provides both of these services, but stay tuned for info on the Capture Kit Club, where you can meet up with us and your friends to put together kits or work on other projects!


Where will we find our favorite Capture gals, Jess & Angie?
We will be utilizing a classroom in the Scrap 2 It store, and we welcome anyone to stop by and say hello while you are shopping at Scrap 2 It! We'll be there more days than not as we work out a regular routine and we can't wait to see you there! We also look forward to hosting some future events (such as crops/scrap nights) with Ranea!


Will I still be able to see kit samples in person? Do I have to pre-order them online?
Our samples will be on display at Scrap 2 It so you can see them up close and personal! You can either purchase the kits online for shipping or pickup when we debut our new website, or you can just stop into Scrap 2 It to browse our kit selection and make your purchase at that time.
 What about my store credit/customer loyalty coupon/gift cards?
You can use any store credit, customer loyalty coupons or gift cards as you normally would until July 21. After that they will be good towards the kits we will be providing. You can still earn credit on your customer loyalty coupons as you normally would until July 21st. At that time we will be changing how we do our customer loyalty coupons, so stay tuned for that info!
What about the new GoFrequent promo that debuted in April?

Our GoFrequent Rewards will end June 30th. If you have any unused GoFrequent Rewards you have until July 21st or the expiration date printed on your rewards coupon to use them, whichever comes first.
Will you be selling any store fixtures?
We will have a selection of store fixtures for sale, so if there is something you have in mind contact us to see if it will be available. Fixtures will be on a first come, first serve basis and will be available for pickup the week of July 23rd. Stay tuned for info on which fixtures will be up for grabs.

Tips & Techniques: Prima Resist Canvas

We have a new item in the store that'll add some really COOL flair to your next project! They're Resist Canvas embellishments from Prima, and we have them in two styles! I used them on the (now sold out) Limited Edition Album last month, and took pics along the way so you all could see just how cool these things are.

 They are little pieces of canvas with designs embossed on them, and when you spray them with Glimmer Mist or Smooch Spritz, the embossed design stays light while the rest of the canvas soaks up the color! Here's a little before & after shot of a small selection of the pack I opened.

And here's how you do it:
Fist, choose the embellishment you want and grab your spray. Spray enough on your piece to completely cover it, or choose two or three colors and make sure that between the three the piece has been fully covered.

Gently wipe off any excess spray and blot your piece with a rag or paper towel. Continue with the next color if using more than one color.

Next, you can distress it even more with some distress ink. Here I used Tim Holtz Distress ink in Walnut Stain, and dabbed it around the edges with the ink applicator (either the foam or felt ones should work!)

And voila! Your piece is complete! Here is a close up of the before & after:

Each piece is unique with a different pattern embossed on the front, and each pack contains 31 pieces. You just need a strong adhesive (I used Glue Dots) to attach them to your project. That's it!
